Job Description: Annual Hours: 2080.
This is an indefinite term position which will expire with a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours’ notice.

Description:

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a full-time, indefinite position in General Surgery at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Responsibilities:

• Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions.
• Conduct history and physical exams in various settings, including Emergency Department and wards.
• Follow patients in pre/peri/postoperative wards and other clinical environments.
• Attend clinical and educational rounds.
• Maintain standard practice recordings of all patient encounters, utilizing dictation or electronic medical records.
• Communicate effectively in English with healthcare team members.

Note: This is NOT a Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant position.

Salary & Benefits: Commensurate with experience and qualifications, including a benefits package.

Qualifications:

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
• Eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
• Prior experience preferred.
• Graduate of an acceptable Physician Assistant Educational Program.

Clinical Assistants:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad.
• Must have at least one of the following:
• Clinical Assistant Assessment
• NAC OSCE
• LMCC

Additional Requirements: Subject to Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search, and registry checks. Candidates may need to participate in skills assessments and provide educational evidence.
