Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant - Cardiac Sciences - 20024522 - (1665)

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant for a full-time position in Cardiac Sciences at St. Boniface Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic investigations/interventions.
• Conduct history and physical exams in various settings, including the Emergency Department and wards.
• Follow patients in the pre/peri/postoperative ward and other clinical settings.
• Attend clinical and educational rounds.
• Maintain standard practice recordings of all patient encounters, which may involve dictating or using electronic medical records.
• Communicate effectively in English with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT POSITION

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and accompanied by a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
• Must be eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
• Prior experience preferred.
• Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.

Clinical Assistants:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical School in Canada or abroad.
• Must have at least one of the following:
  • Clinical Assistant Assessment
  • NAC OSCE
  • LMCC
