This position will work in Haverhill, Methuen, and Newburyport.

Position Overview

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will treat patients requiring physical therapy under the direction of a Physical Therapist. Your responsibilities include reviewing patient evaluations and test results, interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and recommending options and courses of action to physical therapists. You will also provide information on growth and development, and promote wellness and health maintenance.

Essential Functions
  1. Observe patients during treatments to evaluate responses and progress, providing results to the physical therapist either in person or through progress notes.
  2. Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, or supportive devices such as crutches, as needed at each site.
  3. Instruct patients and their families in appropriate exercise programs and the use of equipment.
  4. Maintain a clean work area and check and store equipment after treatments.
  5. Collaborate with physical therapy staff or other healthcare professionals to discuss and evaluate patient information for treatment planning, modification, or coordination.
  6. Document treatments and notes accurately and timely.
Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant is required.

Licenses and Credentials: Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state.

Additional Certifications: Passenger Vehicle Driver's License (state-specific), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from any recognized issuer preferred.

Experience

Internship or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
