Job summary

ADGA Group in Canada seeks a Physical Security Specialist to join our growing team. You will work with seasoned security professionals to assess and enhance client physical security across diverse environments, protecting facilities, personnel and assets.

Responsibilities include security assessments, design briefs, and risk analyses, while staying informed on evolving threats and government standards. Travel across Canada is required, and eligibility for Canadian federal clearances is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in physical security.
  • Knowledge of government security policies, guidance, and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • French bilingualism is a desirable asset.
  • PSP or CPP certification is an asset.
  • PMP certification is an asset.

Job description

ADGA is seeking a Physical Security Specialist to join our growing team. Working alongside a team of experienced security professionals and supported by senior team members and subject matter experts, you will contribute to the delivery of responsive, high-quality security consulting services across a variety of client environments.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with clients to assess and enhance their physical security posture, supporting the protection of critical facilities, personnel, and assets. You will conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities and risks, and provide practical, tailored recommendations to strengthen overall security and operational resilience.

This role involves working with clients across Canada, and occasional travel is required.

This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the client’s state of physical security based on the methodologies or Prevention Detection, Response and Recovery and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
  • Author security plans, policy & procedure, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS).
  • Conduct Security Audits and physical security assessments.
  • Conduct Facility Security Assessments (FSAs).
  • Conduct Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs).
  • Conduct Security Design Briefs (SDBs).
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and trends in physical security and integrate relevant advancements into security designs and strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience within physical security with elements listed in key responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of government security policies, guidance, and standards, especially as pertains to Zoning, Security/High Security Zones, Security Management Systems (SMS), alarms, doors, locks, wall construction, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Government Leads Agency guideline and responsibilities.
  • French bilingualism is a desirable asset for this role.
  • A Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS or the ability to obtain is considered and asset
  • A Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) or the ability to obtain is considered and asset
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain andmaintainaSecret (Level II)Canadian Federal Government Security clearance and other clearances if or asrequired. Other clearances can include VCR's and Controlled Goods clearances.
    • If you do not currently hold the required security clearance ADGA can initiate the clearance process on your behalf; however, you will not be eligible for hire until the clearance has been successfully obtained.
  • The posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly. We will consider candidates for either employment or consultant arrangements. Consultants willbe requiredto have Insurance.
