Role and Facility Information
Within a patient and family-centered care model, and aligned with Providence Health Care’s mission, vision, values, and strategic directions, we seek a Physiatrist to provide clinical services in the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) at Providence sites, including :

The core purpose of the PHC Division of PM&R is “to optimize care and function for people and populations experiencing impairments, diseases, or disabilities, while innovating in clinical care, research, and education.” The division currently offers a full spectrum of consultative care across acute, rehabilitation, long-term, and outreach settings. There are growth opportunities in clinical, research, and education domains, including collaboration on multi-specialty care and development of a Rehabilitation Research and Innovation Lab at Holy Family Hospital. The role also involves mentorship and training of residents, medical students, and rehabilitation staff.
St. Paul’s Hospital Complex Pain Clinic
Established in 1985, the SPH Pain Management Program is a multidisciplinary team offering assessment, diagnostics, and management strategies for chronic pain, including non-interventional and interventional approaches. The Physiatrist will work primarily in outpatient clinics, with potential involvement in research and education.
Acute Care Consultations
Services are provided at SPH, Mount St. Joseph’s Hospital, Vancouver General Hospital, and other institutions. Responsibilities include managing Physiatric diagnoses and rehabilitation planning.
Holy Family Hospital Rehabilitation
One of BC’s largest specialized rehabilitation facilities, with inpatient and outpatient services. The 65-bed inpatient unit focuses on neurological (e.g., stroke), orthopedic, and amputee / prosthetic rehabilitation. Physiatrists collaborate with family physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery during inpatient stays.
Qualifications
Applicants must have an FRCPC in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and be eligible for licensure by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons. Preference for candidates interested in older adult rehabilitation, complex medical needs, or with additional subspecialty training in Pain Medicine.
