Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree: Associate's Degree in business administration, management, or healthcare organizations.
  • Education: Same as degree requirement, from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: Two years’ experience as a PEBLO within the DoD military health system in the last 6 years; or five years’ experience in a civilian disability program; or two years’ experience as a Medical Service Coordinator (MSC).
  • Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted license in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.

This job description is not all-inclusive. Employees may be asked to perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Obtain, assemble, and forward documents for active duty, AFRC, and ANG to relevant stakeholders according to regulations.
  • Ensure processing of Line of Duty (LOD) for each IDES case.
  • Provide guidance to military personnel, retirees, and families regarding their rights, benefits, and obligations.
  • Coordinate evaluation and follow-up appointments, and facilitate referrals related to benefits.
  • Assist incapacitated or legally incompetent service members and their legal next-of-kin with their rights and benefits.
  • Serve as liaison among service members, commanders, healthcare professionals, case managers, and advocacy programs.
  • Process Review-in-Lieu-of (RILO) MEB cases as directed.
  • Respond to inquiries from beneficiaries, agencies, and interested parties.
  • Guide activities across the Military Health System and Veterans Affairs to meet member needs.
  • Assist with appeals, medical reviews, rebuttals, and coordinate legal counsel.
  • Maintain and update program documentation and safeguard medical information according to privacy laws.
  • Support medical staff with regulatory and procedural aspects of profiling and disability processing.
  • Track cases, analyze performance data, and generate reports and briefings for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for members appealing to FPEB and emergency travel for seriously ill/injured members.
  • Advise service members and staff on PEB findings and assist in preparing appeals.
