We are seeking a seasoned PHP Architect with over 10 years of experience to design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications within an end-to-end platform for environmental commodities. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, leading software implementation using PHP frameworks, and mentoring teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong PHP background, cloud platform experience, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Information:

The salary varies by location, with a range of CAD $120k – CAD $140k/year plus benefits for roles in Mississauga, ON / Montreal.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect PHP applications ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Gather and analyze project requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
• Lead development using PHP 8.x frameworks (e.g., Laravel 10.x, CodeIgniter 4.x).
• Conduct code reviews and guide developers on best practices.
• Maintain coding standards, documentation, and architecture guidelines.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor and train development teams.
• Ensure security compliance and data protection.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in PHP development, with 3+ years in an architectural role.
• Strong knowledge of databases (e.g., MySQL) and API development (RESTful).
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding microservices architecture.
