Job summary

Dawson College invites applications for a full-time photography instructor position in Montreal. You will teach within the college's photography program, bringing a strong professional portfolio and current industry practices into the classroom.

Beyond teaching, you will participate in pedagogical days, departmental meetings, and student-focused activities such as field trips and exhibitions, while handling department administration. Fluent English is essential; French knowledge is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
• Five years of experience as a working professional photographer with a strong portfolio.
• Thorough knowledge of current OS and applications used in commercial photography is an asset.
• Teaching experience at the college level is an asset.
• Excellent English communication skills are essential.
• General knowledge of French is an asset.

• Five (5) years experience as a working professional photographer as demonstrated by a portfolio of work of high professional quality using contemporary photographic technologies
• Thorough knowledge of current operating systems and applications used in commercial photography an asset
• Teaching experience at the College level an asset
• Excellent English communication skills essential
• General knowledge of French is an asset.

Note: The selection committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Candidates to be considered under this option must have completed at least the equivalent of a College level diploma (DEC). Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional / industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
