Role Purpose

The Philanthropy Officer will support the fundraising efforts of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation primarily by holding and managing a portfolio of local and regional donors, with a focus on building partnerships though grateful families, individual donors, corporations and/or foundations. They will also be expected to assist in the growth and support of the Foundation by providing a pipeline of donors to our Sr. Philanthropy Officers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual gift prospects and donors. Manages a portfolio of donors (community partnership, individuals, corporations and/or foundations) and partnership prospects for annual operations. and stewarding annual gift prospects and donors.   • Works with leadership to develop ongoing strategies, timelines, objectives, and metrics for assigned portfolio of prospects with a focus on annual objectives and strategic priorities in support of Community, Discovery, and Clinical Excellence.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation and assists team members in meeting the needs and expectations of donors and board members, creating new revenue streams. Works evening and weekends, as needed, to attend Foundation events with purpose of cultivating and stewarding key donors.
  • Leads strategy to grow and expand reach for community partners in the community, creating a pipeline for the corporate and major gift teams. Manages 1-2 physician partnerships.
  • Solicits and manages a portfolio prospect for community engagement and partnerships. Responsible for all donor communications, including written proposals and gift agreements. Ensures proper recording of all contracts with prospects and the appropriate gift acknowledgement and stewardship of assigned donors.
