Alcuin College invites applications from an energetic, organized, and qualified physical education teacher, who will also build the athletics program as our Athletic Director. Candidates should have a sound knowledge and understanding of the BC curriculum and a concept-based, inquiry approach to teaching and learning. The role involves providing a rich and varied experiential learning program to students and collaborating with colleagues. A second teachable subject is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing a learning environment that promotes communication and collaboration, builds positive relationships, fosters an ethic of care, and values the contributions of all learners;
  • Designing and implementing engaging, student-centered learning opportunities that support inquiry and encourage creativity and innovation;
  • Differentiating learning opportunities and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners;
  • Monitoring student learning through a variety of assessment tools and strategies;
  • Communicating positively and proactively with parents;
  • Participating in collaborative professional development and school-wide functions;
