An innovative lab is seeking dynamic individuals for funded PhD positions focused on developing advanced robotic systems for personalized rehabilitation. This role involves creating intelligent controllers, optimizing therapy strategies, and designing bio-mechatronic systems. Candidates will engage in groundbreaking research, collaborating with health scientists and the biomedical industry to enhance therapeutic outcomes for individuals with severe impairments. Join a forward-thinking team dedicated to improving lives through technology and research. If you are passionate about robotics and rehabilitation engineering, this opportunity is perfect for you.
At IDEA Lab, we are still accepting applications for funded PhD positions.
Robotic systems can actively assist/guide individuals with severe impairment during repetitive therapy exergames (i.e., exercise games) while tracking kinematic and kinetic data. However, the existing systems deliver therapy exercises that are similar among all patients, and the specific needs of patients are mostly neglected. Thus, we aim to develop an affordable and portable robotic system (hardware and software) to deliver cost-effective personalized upper extremity rehabilitation following a neurological or musculoskeletal disorder.
