MISTRAS Services Inc. is currently seeking experienced PCN Level 2 PAUT Technicians to join our growing team in support of major oil and gas projects across Canada . This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global leader in asset protection and integrity services, delivering advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions in dynamic and challenging environments.

As a key member of our field services team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in performing Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on a variety of industrial components, including piping, pressure vessels, and structural welds. This role involves travel to client sites , working on scheduled shutdowns, turnarounds, and long-term integrity projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Phased Array Technician is responsible for safely and accurately conducting non-destructive testing.
  • Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment
  • Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
  • Follow techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection
  • Ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
  • Organize and report test results
  • Perform specialized inspections
  • Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience And Skills

  • CGSB level 2 certification in Ultrasonic Method, additional CGSB certifications will be an asset
  • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Certification (PCN Level 2 / CSWIP)
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment

Physical Job Demand

  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (sub zero temperatures) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking.
  • Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
  • Must wear required protective and safety equipment (cold weather gear, safety glasses, safety boots, hard hats, etc.)
