Job summary

Acuren is hiring Phased Array Technicians for major industrial projects in the Fort McMurray region. The role involves performing advanced PAUT inspections, setting up equipment, and interpreting data to ensure structural integrity during the 2026 Fall Outage season.

Responsibilities include applying additional NDT methods as needed, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Fly-in, fly-out from Canada with camp provided.

Qualifications

  • PAUT certification is required.
  • CGSB Level 2 UT certification is required.
  • Additional CGSB certifications are an asset.
  • Must maintain safety and quality awareness.

  • Set up, configure and calibrate PAUT equipment and scan parameters.
  • Interpret A-scan, B-scan and S-scan data to assess integrity.
  • Apply additional NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) as required.
  • Document and evaluate inspection results (defect type, size, location).
  • Develop and follow scanning procedures aligned with standards.

Job description

Details
  • Outage Duration: September 8, 2026 - October 6, 2026
  • 6/1 rotation, 12-hour day shifts
  • Need: Valid PAUT Certification (CGSB, CSWIP, or PCN)
  • Fly-in-fly-out from all major hubs in Canada
  • Camp provided
Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced ultrasonic (PAUT) inspections on welds, materials, and components
  • Set up, configure, and calibrate equipment, including probe angles and scan parameters
  • Interpret A-scan, B-scan, and S-scan data to evaluate structural integrity
  • Apply additional NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) as required
  • Identify discontinuities, corrosion, and non-conformances with precision
  • Document and evaluate inspection results (defect type, size, location, severity)
  • Develop and follow scanning procedures aligned with industry standards
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory, client, and internal quality requirements
  • Maintain and verify PAUT equipment for optimal performance
  • Conduct routine software/hardware checks per manufacturer guidelines
  • Champion a strong safety culture and follow all site and corporate protocols
