Job description

Summary of Duties

We currently have a regular full-time vacancy for a Pharmacy Technician within Pharmacy Stores. The Stores duties can be broadly divided into three areas: drug distribution, inventory management, and purchasing. Responsibilities include tasks such as assessing the need and supplying drugs to the OR, critical care areas, W&B program, and other programs as needed, maintaining inventory in AcuDose cabinets, Pyxis cabinets, C2 Safe, supplying narcotics to all hospital areas, placing purchase orders with vendors, managing drug recalls and expiry dates.

Other duties include inventory management in Pharmacy Stores, purchasing and receiving drugs and supplies, and maintaining appropriate documentation. Shifts start at various times during weekdays (0630hrs, 0700hrs, 0730hrs, 0800hrs) and include weekend and statutory holiday shifts as required in rotation.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Prior work experience in the Pharmacy Department, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre within Pharmacy Stores is preferred.
  • Experience with AcuDose, Pyxis, and C2 Safe is preferred.
  • Current licensure or in progress by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
