Job description

Summary of Duties

We currently have a regular full-time vacancy for a Pharmacy Technician within Pharmacy Stores. The Stores duties can be broadly divided into three areas: drug distribution, inventory management, and purchasing. Responsibilities include assessing the need and supplying drugs to the OR, critical care areas, W&B program, and other programmes as needed, maintaining inventory in AcuDose cabinets, Pyxis cabinets, C2 Safe, supplying narcotics to all hospital areas, placing purchase orders with vendors, managing drug recalls and expiry dates.

Other duties include inventory management in Pharmacy Stores, purchasing and receiving drugs and supplies, and maintaining appropriate documentation. Multiple weekday shifts begin at 0630hrs, 0700hrs, 0730hrs, 0800hrs, with weekend and statutory holiday shifts as required in rotation.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Prior work experience in the Pharmacy Department, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre within Pharmacy Stores is preferred.
  • Experience with AcuDose, Pyxis, and C2 Safe is preferred.
  • Current licensure or in progress by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
