Job summary

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient and other pharmacy areas. Responsibilities include dispensing, medication order entry, cart refills, and ward stock replenishment across SHN’s sites.

Strong focus on sterile preparation, chemotherapy prep, and inventory control. Requirements include CCAPP-accredited diploma, HP registration with Ontario College of Pharmacists or eligibility, and minimum 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician Diploma from a CCAPP-accredited college.
• Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists or eligible for registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform unit-dose or traditional dispensing and medication order entry.
• Conduct medication cart refills and ward stock replenishment.
• Manage inventory and sterile drug preparation, including chemotherapy preparation.
• Assist in manufacturing and pre-packaging; participate in quality improvement and workload measurement.

Duties include unit-dose or traditional dispensing, medication order entry, medication cart refill, ward stock replenishment, inventory management, sterile products preparation, non-hazardous and hazardous drug preparation (e.g. chemotherapy preparation), manufacturing and pre-packaging. All rotations include responsibility for continuous quality improvement and workload measurement.
