Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, and assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies and procedures.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system operation.
  3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and resolving issues.
Customer Experience
  • Greet customers and patients, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits, to deliver exceptional service.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practices under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform duties like entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting with workflow.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing and quality improvement.
  • Handle sales transactions and assist customers in locating products.
  • Process third-party claims and support inventory management activities.
  • Assist in clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
  • Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Follow all company policies, and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
  • Complete assigned tasks and special projects.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through our training program and/or state requirements; certification may be a condition for promotion.
  • Attend training and continuing education to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
