Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Cumberland Health Centre in Cumberland, BC. The role follows College of Pharmacists of British Columbia guidelines and VIHA policies, prioritizing patient safety and accuracy in all medication processes.

The technician will process orders, verify prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications, update the Pharmacy system, and support stock control.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Current practicing registration with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Process medication orders clinically reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness.
• Receive verbal and written prescriptions and ensure they are complete and authentic.
• Prepare, process and compound prescriptions and perform final checks.
• Maintain drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system and stock levels.
