Job description

Summary of Duties:

  • Provide personalized pharmaceutical care to cancer patients, including specialized medication dispensing of take-home medications.
  • Interact directly with patients, solving logistical problems and working closely with pharmacists, drug access navigators, nurses, and physicians to ensure accurate and timely prescriptions.
  • Prepare sterile chemotherapy doses for over 100 patients daily, including clinical trial medications, using various software programs.
  • Manage inventory, order, and receive drugs and supplies.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Current licensure by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Retail pharmacy experience, including Point of Sale systems, preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems such as Kroll is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and demonstrate teamwork, initiative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, empathetic, and customer-service oriented.
  • Experience in aseptic medication preparation and hospital-based oncology systems is an asset.
