Position Overview

This inpatient pharmacy technician role involves supporting pharmacists with medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management. The position requires providing excellent customer service and operating pharmacy systems.

Job Details

• Hours: Monday - Friday, rotating shifts between 5:00am - 1:30pm and 6:00am - 2:30pm. Every third weekend 5:00am - 1:30pm.
• Location: Vanderbilt University Hospital
• Open to certified or registered candidates with relevant experience.
• Sign-on bonus is available only for full-time, external candidates, not current or recent VUMC staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution.
• Manage inventory according to departmental processes.
• Follow federal, state, and hospital policies and regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
• Operate pharmacy computer systems and technology.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (NHA or PTCB), Tennessee LIC-Pharmacy Technician.
• Experience: Less than 1 year relevant work experience.
• Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
