Job summary

A healthcare provider in Owen Sound is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist in delivering quality pharmacy services. Candidates must graduate from a CCAPP accredited program and have current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Familiarity with pharmacy automation is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists or eligibility.
  • Unit dose/IV admix drug distribution experience.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Pharmacist in drug distribution and dispensing.
  • Check and enter orders, manage inventory, and perform aseptic admixing.
  • Support a culture of patient safety and adhere to hospital policies.

DEPARTMENT: PHARMACYPOSITION LOCATION: OWEN SOUNDUNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU - HPDSTATUS: PART-TIMEWAGE RATE: $32.32 - $37.26The Pharmacy Technician works within the full scope of practice as per the Standards of Practice for Pharmacy Technicians in the Province of Ontario and hospital policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Technician aides the Pharmacist in the delivery of quality pharmacy services including drug distribution, dispensing, checking and entry of orders, inventory, aseptic admixing and SMP/LOA dispensing.Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:Required:
  • Graduate of a CCAPP Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists or eligibility
  • Unit dose/IV admix drug distribution experience
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Available for all shifts, including weekends and ability for multi-site coverage when required
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records

Preferred
  • Familiarity with pharmacy automation (e.g. PacMed, McKesson, Aesynt)
  • Experience with Cerner systems
