Job Description :

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will perform technical functions relating to prescriptions including gathering patients’ information, product preparation, product distribution and inventory control. You will work closely with pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care to clients.

Responsibilities :

Here are some of the main activities and tasks that the Pharmacy Technician performs :

  • Assist pharmacists to maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products
  • Check prescriptions for completeness and ensure information is accurate
  • Gather and enter client information in databases and prepare medications for clients in collaboration with pharmacists
  • Receive and process verbal prescriptions from clinics and Allied Health Professionals
  • Provide instructions on how to use health aids, and medical devices such as drug administration devices and monitoring devices
  • May help with scheduling and workflow
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist

Requirements :

  • Must be licenced and registered with College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.
  • Experience working in a community pharmacy.
  • Must be comfortable with Kroll, Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and changing technology.
  • Acute attention to detail and well-organized.
