Job Description

  1. Responsible for technical tasks within the automated unit dose drug distribution system, including restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units, dispensing and compounding of patient-specific prescriptions, distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs, and other inventory management tasks.
  2. Responsible for the operation of select Pharmacy Automation systems.
  3. Prepackaging of unit doses and preparation of sterile pharmaceutical products.

Qualifications

  1. Completion of a recognized college-level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program required.
  2. Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  3. Previous hospital experience with unit dose and/or automated drug distribution systems and intravenous admixture services required.
  4. Previous experience with Best Possible Medication History preferred.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated ability to participate in a team environment.
  7. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  8. Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Additional Information

  1. Status: Permanent Part-time.
  2. Hours: Monday to Sunday, various rotating 7.5-hour shifts (hours may change based on operational needs).
  3. Salary: $31.126 - $37.641 per hour.
