We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Pharmacy Services department.
The Pharmacy Technician operates in accordance with the competency guidelines, scope of practice, and standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians as outlined by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia, and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols. Responsibilities include processing medication orders that are clinically reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness and approved by a pharmacist, receiving verbal and non-verbal prescriptions from practitioners, ensuring prescriptions are complete and authentic, preparing, processing, and compounding prescriptions, verifying the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions, processing prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves, transferring prescriptions to and from other pharmacies, entering and maintaining drug and personal health information in the pharmacy information system, maintaining stock levels, and performing clerical duties as assigned.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 07:30 to 15:30, Rotating. Rotation includes weekend shifts.
About Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre: The hospital has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds, capable of handling 22,000 ER visits per year. Highlights include an endoscopy suite, two state-of-the-art operating rooms, a procedure room, ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis, 40 inpatient medical and surgical beds, three intensive care units, minor surgeries, and seven single maternity rooms for Labour, Delivery, and Post-Partum. Fort St. John also features a Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic serving the community.
Fort St. John: Known as “The Energetic City,” it has a large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry, and agriculture. Located above the Peace River Valley, it serves as the capital of the Peace River district, with a population of over 21,400 and servicing an area of approximately 70,000. The community offers a cultural centre, library, theatre, art space, seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one secondary school, and a Northern Lights College campus.
