Job summary

Walmart Canada Corp. is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant in Saint John, NB to support the Pharmacist in prescription filling and administrative duties. You will participate in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations to enhance patient care and customer service.

The role involves processing prescriptions, data entry, inventory control, and clerical tasks, with supervision by the Pharmacist. Strong attention to regulatory requirements and accuracy is essential.

Responsibilities

• Receiving prescriptions from patients, following provincial legal/regulatory conditions and assessing completeness.
• Performing computer functions as directed by the Pharmacist, including data entry, price check, and patient information updates.
• Filling prescriptions under the Pharmacist’s supervision, counting, labeling, and organizing for pharmacist checking.
• Maintaining inventory control, stocking drugs and supplies, pulling expired medications, and organizing returns and purchases.
• General housekeeping: keeping the dispensary clean and organized, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Clerical organization: filing prescriptions and administrative support tasks as assigned.
• Assisting with OTC operations, stocking, cashier duties as assigned by OTC Manager or Pharmacist.
