Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Pharmacy Program Team Lead to coordinate prescription workflows, mentor staff, and support onboarding while ensuring timely patient service and program execution within a nine-month contract.

The role requires a healthcare-related Bachelor’s degree, several years in specialty pharmacy operations, and management experience. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, life sciences, pharmacy technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy operations, pharmacy support, reimbursement, or related healthcare operations.
  • Less than 2 years of experience in a management capacity preferred.
  • Certification in pharmacy technician support or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate prescription workflow and related activities to meet daily deadlines.
  • Coach and mentor their team members.
  • Onboard new hires and cross-train existing associates.
  • Maintain knowledge of drugs/programs assigned to their team.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for their program portfolio.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate prescription workflow and related activities to meet daily deadlines
  • Ensure workload is shared equitably among associates, including those in other teams
  • Coach and mentor their team members
  • Actively contribute to the successful on-boarding of new hires and cross-training of existing associates
  • Collaborate with other pharmacy associates to achieve desired results
  • Ensure team monitors outgoing shipments to ensure delivery occurred within desired time frame
  • Consult regularly with Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacists and other pharmacy program management
  • Resolve or elevate operational and customer issues through a solution‑based approach
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and documentation on, the drugs/programs assigned to their team
  • Maintain working knowledge of the drugs/programs assigned to other teams
  • Able to disseminate knowledge and information efficiently to their team
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for their program portfolio
  • Work collaboratively with other Innomar business units and ABSG Patient Programs (including Health Forward) in fulfilling pharmacy responsibilities in program development and execution
  • Participation in and representation of pharmacy at interdepartmental meetings
  • Prepare/review and process manual claims and audits in a timely manner
  • Liaise with the pharmacy Accountant to manage accounts receivable, assignment of benefits, and related documentation
  • Enter prescriptions into the computer; retrieve and/or correct data in computer
  • Assist team in completion of day-to-day activities to meet Program deadlines
  • Screen calls and gather relevant information for Pharmacist
  • Oversee inventory management practices
  • Ensure timely completion of routine administrative tasks
  • Understand pharmacy performance metrics
  • Review and analyze reports, invoices or other financial documentation
  • Prepare, review and/or maintain Quality Assurance documentation, including CAPAs
  • Report Adverse Events in accordance with provincial regulatory standards and, where applicable, internal and contractual obligations
  • Fulfill any other duties within their scope of practice as outlined in the Job Description relevant to that designation
  • The Pharmacy Program Team Lead will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time

Salary Range* $55,002 CAD - 109,901 CAD
