Job summary

Lawtons in Dartmouth, NS is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You'll be responsible for prescription assembly and preparation for delivery to community Lawtons and Sobeys stores, and you'll work with compounding equipment to support patient care.

Applicants should have a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma and experience is a plus; excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly, and preparation for delivery to community Lawtons and Sobeys stores.
• Working with specialized compounding equipment like fume hoods and Maz mixers
• Working with and communicating with retail pharmacies to create and supply compounds for patients
• Receiving telephone requests and questions from other Lawtons/Sobeys pharmacies.
• Ordering and replenishing supplies
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Inventory management
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
