The Métis Economic Development Organization (MEDO) is a business investment and management firm, and proud affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF). It works to make key business investment decisions focused on generating profit and building capacity for the long-term sustainability of the Red River Métis within Manitoba.

The MEDO seeks to fill one full-time Pharmacy Manager position at our MEDOCare Pharmacy in Selkirk, MB. The Pharmacy Manager will oversee the daily operations of our new pharmacy, balancing healthcare provision with sound business principles. Remuneration depends on experience and qualifications. The successful candidate will initially work at MEDOcare Pharmacy in Winnipeg, MB for approximately four months.

Job Duties/Competencies:
  1. Plan, organize, and implement daily pharmacy operations to meet goals;
  2. Oversee inventory management, including recalls and expiry date checks;
  3. Develop, review, and improve pharmacy procedures;
  4. Ensure procedures comply with College of Pharmacy of Manitoba Standards of Practice and minimize errors;
  5. Provide leadership to the pharmacy team;
  6. Manage daily sales, adjudication, and prescription reports;
  7. Produce weekly financial reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current license and good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba;
  • Experience in retail pharmacy management;
  • Knowledge of current healthcare best practices;
  • Proficiency with Kroll software system;
  • Effective staff management and mentoring skills;
  • Teamwork skills;
  • Customer focus, tact, and diplomacy;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture (asset);
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and ability to travel.
