Job description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Manager to join our Kamsack I.D.A, location in Kamsack Saskatchewan. A traditional style retail pharmacy that is always fully stocked and busy with shoppers. This store has a large harm reduction focus and the staff here are passionate about filling the gap in healthcare seen by the less fortunate. At Kamsack IDA you will work closely with local doctors and addiction facility staff and have plenty of opportunity for minor ailment prescribing and clinical services. This store has Methameasure automation allowing pharmacists more time to focus on patients. Generally a 1-1.5 pharmacist location with 3 pharmacy assistants, one of which is currently studying to become a registered technician.

  • Up to 40 hrs / week
  • PT/FT option
  • Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy and actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement. The Pharmacy Manager will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in the areas of patient focused care, customer service and workflow efficiencies.

  • Focus on clinical services (i.e., medication reviews, disease state management)
  • Initiate care plans, follow up and document
  • Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitor medication adherence
  • Collect and document relevant patient, drug, and disease information
  • Recommend OTC products and vitamins
  • Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
  • Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Licensed and in good standing with College of Pharmacists of Saskatchewan
  • Minimum 1 year of prior experience as a Pharmacy Manager (preferred)
  • Possess entrepreneurial abilities and a will to grow the business
  • Ability to lead, coach, and encourage staff
  • Capability to collaborate with the front-store staff to find possibilities for patient care
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong sense of professionalism
