This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, preparation, and delivery of prescriptions. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs, providing counseling with proper documentation to all patients, and creating awareness through public relations are key responsibilities. Additionally, supervising staff, providing guidance, and managing the financial and operational success of the department are essential duties.

What you'll do

1. Supervise and guide staff, including hiring and performance management
2. Ensure the financial and operational success of the department
3. Accurately prepare, dispense, and control medications for patients
4. Maintain adequate inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements
5. Counsel patients regarding medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner
6. Promote awareness and educate customers through public relations activities
7. Resolve patient and doctor requests/issues promptly and positively
8. Review sales and contribution budgets, identify sales opportunities, and control costs within the pharmacy

What you’ll need:

1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist license
2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy environment
3. Strong communication, interpersonal, and people management skills
4. Excellent customer service and professionalism
5. Ability to develop community-based marketing strategies
6. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to implement action plans
7. Proficiency in personal computing; knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy systems is an asset
