Pharmacy Fill Technician - 2nd Shift - PT

Overview

The Pharmacy Fill Technician accurately prepares prescriptions, including picking, labeling, scanning, and final preparation for pharmacist verification. They also help maintain an organized workspace and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Pick medications from shelving and storage areas
• Verify accuracy of final preparations before pharmacist review
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision
• Process returned drugs and dispose of them according to procedures
• Assist in pre-packing and labeling frequently ordered medications
• Package materials manually
• Follow all regulations including HIPAA
• Keep workstation clean and stock supplies
• Report scanning issues to the pharmacist
• Adhere to safety, attendance, and dress code policies
• Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• State-required pharmacy technician licenses/certifications
• Previous pharmacy experience (1+ years preferred, especially in long-term care)
• Knowledge of medications
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Ability to work at a moderate pace
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
• Reliable and detail-oriented
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift light loads
• Availability for various shifts and days

Physical Demands

• Sit or stand for 7-10 hours daily
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, walking, crawling
• Work extended hours as needed
• Lift/move up to 50 pounds
