Job summary

CareRx is seeking an Entry Level Pharmacy Assistant to support LTC homes and retirement communities in Regina, Saskatchewan. You will assist with the preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, and support daily operations under the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

Training will be provided; prior experience is not required. The role is on-site at 1148 Dorothy St, Regina, SK S4X4L1, with a five‑day workweek, a collaborative team, and opportunities for growth while

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification is preferred; training will be provided.
• Experience with KROLL and/or PacMed is an asset.
• Visual acuity, numeracy, attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling packs, bottles and labels.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure precise record-keeping and prescription information from nursing staff is filled via dispensary software
• Prepare medication for compliance packaging and maintain workflow for receiving and processing prescriptions within timelines.
• Assist with pharmacy inventory management and potentially operate automated dispensing machine (PacMed) for processing and filling prescriptions
• Manage returns and expired products from nursing homes, including unpacking, sorting and disposal of medications
• Preparing creams and liquids, and generate daily and weekly production reports
• Maintain stock levels, reorder medications, and prepare both manual and automated compliance packaging.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment

CareRx is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant (Entry level- Training Provided) to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities. Role Accountabilities:

What You Will Bring to The Team:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required - training will be provided for the position
• Experience with KROLL and/or PacMed an asset
