Job summary

Real Canadian Superstore, part of Loblaw Companies Limited, is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant in Edmonton. You will greet patients, verify prescription details, enter data, dispense medications, and support stocking and inventory.

This unionized role offers varied hours, opportunities to develop in a busy pharmacy, and a commitment to customer service and community health. Previous Pharmacy Assistant experience is an asset, and strong computer and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and confirm accuracy of prescription information before filling.
• Enter patient care data accurately.
• Handle third party adjudication when necessary.
• Dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Maintain pharmacy stock through inventory control systems.
• Address OTC enquiries and refer to Pharmacist as needed.
• Handle customer prescription pickup.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for:

• Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling
• Data entry of patient care information
• Third Party adjudication (if necessary)
• Accurate dispensing prescription medications
• Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems
• General OTC enquiries from patients and referral to Pharmacist where required and necessary
• Handling customer prescription pick up

Job Qualifications:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is an asset
• Excellent organizational skills and detail orientation
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service experience
• Proficient computer/data/entry skills
• Flexibility to work a variety of hours which may include days, evenings, night shifts and weekends
