Position Summary

The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of medications. They assist with preparation, packaging, and organization of medication deliveries, requiring exceptional attention to detail. Their support to Pharmacists and Technicians is essential for maintaining our quality standards.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate documentation of work completed, following policies and procedures
• Preparing prescriptions by gathering data from nursing staff for filling via dispensary software
• Processing, adjudicating, dispensing, and filling prescriptions
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Upholding confidentiality and ethical standards

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program
• At least 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
• Knowledge of pharmacy calculations
• Visual acuity, numeracy, manual dexterity for handling prescriptions, bottles, and labels
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional demeanor with clients; ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Customer service experience and motivation to succeed
• Positive, cooperative, team-oriented attitude
• Experience with KROLL, PointClickCare, and Mede-care/E-care is an asset
