Your Opportunity:
The Pharmacy Assistant performs routine functions related to the distribution of pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include: accurate stocking of medication carts, receiving Pharmacy Department orders, prepackaging medications using various methods including automated and computerized devices, data entry, and filing. This position will also maintain communication with internal and external customers and professionals. It requires accurate data entry, record keeping, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. All tasks require motivation, self-direction, and minimal supervision. The role involves physical exertion, particularly walking.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for packaging, distributing, shipping medications, and managing and replenishing medication inventory levels under the supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving standing for long periods, extensive walking, lifting up to 22 kg, pushing, and pulling. Tasks require visual acuity and repetitive motion. Fluency in English, reading and comprehension skills, basic math, computer skills, accurate keyboarding, and attention to detail are necessary. May be exposed to areas with traumatic events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pharmacy Assistant program or experience in a pharmacy setting is an asset.
