About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the Clinical Pharmacist Surgery Team Leader will collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership to support the clinical pharmacy practice in their corresponding area. The Team Leader will create consistent training and onboarding for new staff members, coordinate mentorship opportunities for students and staff, and participate in medication management decisions. This individual will cultivate a culture of continuous quality improvement and research in collaboration with healthcare teams, identify opportunities for policies and procedures that ensure high quality patient care.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
  • Eligible for the registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists required
  • Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Experience with BDM Pharmacy software and hospital dispensary experience required
  • Knowledge of medication patient safety therapeutics required
  • Experience in evidence based clinical research or quality improvement methodology an asset
  • Strong teaching ability/experience required
  • Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature required
  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills required
  • Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
  • Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and to work well under time pressures required
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$54.29 - $65.31 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
