Why this role is important?

SUMMARY:

To manage the operations of the Pharmacy while on duty, including providing consultation to both customers and healthcare providers, practicing to the full scope in providing professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pharmacy and Customer Service: Acknowledge all customers approaching the Pharmacy, practice within federal/provincial, regulatory/legal requirements, ensure all privacy requirements are met, provide counselling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products, practice to the full extent of expanded scope with Professional Services, be clearly identifiable to the public, ensure accuracy of all prescriptions, communicate with healthcare professionals, and maintain all required records.
• Workflow and Inventory Management: Control access respecting inventory and confidentiality, review workflow queues daily, manage 'will call' bins, review stock for expiry, oversee stock levels and medication orders, and ensure compliance with regulations regarding controlled substances.
• Operations: Maintain the appearance of workstations and areas, participate in financial reporting as appropriate, respond to store communications, and file incident reports for medication or privacy incidents.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to think independently and make decisions, coordinate and delegate tasks, and coach colleagues.
• Proven leadership in business growth, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
• Strong problem-solving skills, personal computing skills, and knowledge of pharmacy systems are assets.
• Adherence to health and safety procedures, completion of mandatory and ongoing training.
