About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of management, the Pharmacist is responsible to ensure safe and effective drug therapy optimizations and management for hemodialysis patients. The Renal Pharmacist participates in all aspects of care for renal patients including immunizations, prescribing/deprescribing, pharmacokinetic monitoring, and serves as a steward for all appropriate medication use. The candidate will also engage in quality committees, quality improvement and research initiatives. Further, the candidate will provide educational sessions to other health care professionals, as well as precept pharmacy learners.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia Pharmacy Regulator (NSPR)
  • Two (2) years recent related experience an asset
  • Completion of a hospital residency program an asset
  • Member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists an asset
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetics relevant to area of practice/populations served
  • Demonstrated accountability
  • Demonstrated judgement and decision making skills
  • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
  • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation

Compensation and Benefits

$49.42 - $61.74 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
