Qualifications

  • Graduation in Pharmacy and licensed to practice in Nova Scotia required.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred.

About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager of Primary Health Care, the Pharmacist will work with an interprofessional group of health care providers and patients to provide patient-centered care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving drug-related problems, completing medication reconciliation, participating in interprofessional medical rounds, providing patient education, and making therapeutic recommendations. The Pharmacist is also responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems (inpatient and outpatient) and contributing to the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Services.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum two years' experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Shifts include days, nights and weekends
  • Travel to various sites will be required
Compensation and Benefits

$46.11 - $56.21 Hourly
