- Compounding and dispensing medications, as prescribed by physicians
- Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to the multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies
- Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
- Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
- Providing immunizations, and other medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow, verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections
- Ensuring the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Ensuring a safe and clean working environment

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or pharmacology
- Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc
- Valid state pharmacist license (or must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure)
- Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approachThe ability to understand customers, medical staff, and coworkers
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands
- The ability to solve problems and weigh the merits of different possible solutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications, used by pharmacies, such as MEDITECH and Mediware
- Great organizational skills
