Qualifications

Job Description

Come work as a Pharmacist with Island Health. Island Health is hiring Pharmacists to join Pharmacy teams across the Vancouver Island region. Multiple openings are available, including Clinical and Staff Pharmacist roles with full time, part time, casual and temporary positions available.

These positions may qualify for Provincial and/or Federal Loan Forgiveness programs.

  • Provincial Rural Retention Incentives: Up to $2,000 paid to employees at the end of quarter based on productive hours worked ($8,000 annual max).
  • Rural Remote Recruitment Incentives: Up to $20,000 signing bonus with 24 months Return of Service for eligible vacancies, employees and communities.
  • Recruitment Incentives for Difficult to Fill Vacancies: Up to $15,000 signing bonus with 24 months Return of Service for eligible vacancies, employees and communities.
  • Relocation: Relocation assistance of up to $5,000 may be available to eligible candidates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Licensed by, or eligible for licensing by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (COPBC).
  • Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Residency or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to apply clinical knowledge and make sound decisions with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the Employer's primary language of business both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to be self-directed, to organize and prioritize workload and to complete tasks with accuracy, precision and dependability.

  • Ability to operate related equipment, including utilizing a variety of standard computerized office software applications.
  • Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position.
