A healthcare organization in Fort McMurray is seeking a Pharmacist I to provide direct patient care, manage medication therapy, and ensure safe pharmaceutical services. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and be eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $54.69 to $62.88 per hour.
Pharmacists at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre (NLRH) are an integrated member of the clinical team. Pharmacists provide direct patient care completing Best Possible Medication Histories, attending patient care rounds, providing patient education during admission and on discharge, addressing consults, monitoring medication treatment, and more. NLRH has integrated pharmacist coverage in the medicine, surgery, ICU, and ER departments with clinically deployed technicians in ER. Pharmacists also provide reactive coverage for other units including maternity, inpatient psychiatry, and pediatrics. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. New graduates encouraged to apply.
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
