Job summary

METRO is seeking a Pharmacist for a full-time contract role (Permanent posting) to provide direct patient care and support the Pharmacy Manager in dispensary operations and front shop management.

You will dispense medications, counsel patients, oversee dispensary orders, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance pharmacy services. The role includes supervision during the Pharmacy Manager's absence and ensuring compliance with procedures and store standards.

Qualifications

• Education – B.Sc.Phm. Degree (4-year University Pharmacy Program).
• Licensure – Registered Part A Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Injection certified and Smoking Cessation certified and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Perform all professional activities of dispensing, patient counseling and pharmacy services.
• Perform all tasks required to satisfy dispensary orders.
• Perform all acts under the expanded scope of pharmacy practice.
• Provide pharmacy services and Company initiatives.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals in the provision of patient care.
• Supervise the pharmacy department in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and assume the Pharmacy Manager's responsibilities during short-term absences.
• Ensure the pharmacy opens and closes according to hours of operation.
• Ensure compliance with the Company Recall Procedure.
• Ensure proper procedures are maintained to manage shrink.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager in scheduling relief pharmacist coverage and address emergency staffing concerns while on duty.

The typical hourly salary range for this position is $42.00 to $52.00. The hourly salary offered will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Key Relationships:As a Pharmacist, you will receive direction from the Pharmacy Manager and the pharmacy operations manager. You will provide direction to Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacist Assistants, and Pharmacy Clerks. You will interact with internal contacts such as Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Services, Pharmacy Merchandising, Inventory Control and Audit, Store Services, McMahon, and Metro IT. Additionally, you will engage with external contacts, including direct pharmacy vendors like McMahon and Kroll Canada.
