Job summary

Safeway in Langley, BC seeks a licensed Pharmacist to deliver patient-centered care, counsel on therapies, and ensure safe, efficient pharmacy operations.

You will lead patient interactions, coordinate with technicians, and stay current with regulatory requirements and industry trends to provide high-quality health services in our community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the province of responsibility.
• Injection and First Aid Certification.
• Kroll software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion while delivering patient-centered care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and clinical services.
• Provide patient counseling and education for new therapies to patients and caregivers, tailoring the approach to needs and concerns.
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and complete proper documentation.
• Participate in professional programs and collaborate with colleagues to provide health and wellness services.
• Ensure seamless pharmacy experience across locations and prioritize patient safety by supervising technicians as required.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, and industry trends; attend training as required.

• Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion while acting in the patient’s best interest to achieve excellence in patient-centered care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and professional clinical services (e.g., disease state management, medication reviews, adherence, health risk assessments, injections/vaccines).
• Provide patient counseling and education for new therapies to patients and caregivers, tailoring the approach to the needs and concerns of the patient (e.g., literacy, hearing loss, privacy).
• Initiate care plans, follow up, and complete proper documentation.
• Participate in professional programs and collaborate with colleagues to provide excellence in health and wellness services to all patients.
• Actively engage in all areas of Fusion to ensure patients experience seamless care and a consistent pharmacy experience across locations.
• Ensure prescription safety by prioritizing technical functions and delegating tasks to Pharmacy Registered Technicians and Assistants as required.
• Thoroughly understand all relevant corporate pharmacy service offerings and programs, providing each customer/patient with the program that best meets their health care needs.
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, and industry trends/developments; attend training as required.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, company policies, processes, and procedures (e.g., OHS, Loss Prevention, CQI).

What you bring to the table:
