About the Opportunity

Under supervision of the Manager Clinical Services, the Pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients as part of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include patient counseling, medication monitoring, student mentoring, drug reviews, liaising with community pharmacists, and education. The Pharmacist may also participate in clinical research related to pharmacy practice.

About You

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Graduation from a recognized School of Pharmacy
  • Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
  • Hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of medication safety and therapeutics
  • Experience in evidence-based clinical research (asset)
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Interest in professional development and lifelong learning
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French, is an asset

Hours and Duration

Long-term assignment, 100% FTE, 75 hours bi-weekly, approximately 1 year.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate: $47.03 - $58.77. Benefits include health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and pension plans.
