Pharmacist 1 - Odette Cancer Center Pharmacy - Temporary Full-Time 2025-13088 (2025-13088)

Responsibilities

We currently have a temporary full-time position in the Odette Cancer Center Pharmacy with patient care responsibilities within the Oncology program. The pharmacist's duties can be broadly divided into three areas:

  • Direct patient care
  • Educational responsibilities
  • Drug distribution and supervision of pharmacy technicians

Responsibilities include reviewing, clarifying, modifying, and verifying physician orders in the oncology CPOE system (OPIS); drug dispensing; answering drug-related questions; providing pharmaceutical care; medication reconciliation; patient counseling; participating in the education of students and multidisciplinary staff; supervising clinical services in the chemotherapy unit; and participating in hospital and departmental committees. Order review and patient contact will involve the retail pharmacy and chemotherapy unit, with IV systemic therapy order review once independence is demonstrated.
