Job summary

Talent Pool Builder seeks a Pharmacist for a Windsor hospital role. You will handle compounding, dispensing, and patient drug therapy guidance in a hospital setting, consulting with physicians, nurses and other health professionals.

You will maintain records, ensure daily pharmacy security, and comply with Ontario regulations and OHSA standards; bilingual French is an asset. Ontario license with Part A direct patient care is required; residency and PharmD are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree required and licensed in Ontario.
• Ontario license with Part A direct patient care.
• Hospital setting experience preferred where possible.
• Residency and PharmD are preferred qualifications.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacist shall be responsible for the accurate compounding and dispensing of pharmaceutical preparations according to medication order; consulting with physicians, nurses and other health professionals and furnishing information concerning appropriate drug therapy; maintaining all records and files as required by law and pharmacy policy, and the daily security of the pharmacy department. The pharmacist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a hospital pharmacy environment – preferred
• Previous anticoagulation experience – preferred
• Preference will be given to individuals who have completed a certificate program in anticoagulation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and initiative;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Able to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team;
• Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability;
• Commitment to and participation in Quality Enhancement activities;
• General good health and a level of fitness appropriate to the demands of the position
• French language skills an asset

EDUCATION

• B.Sc. Phm. Degree – required
• Pharm D preferred;
• Residency preferred;
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the province of Ontario
• In good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with Part A (direct patient care) license with OCP
