Summary:

Manage pharmacy operations during your shift, provide consultations to customers and healthcare providers, practice to full scope in delivering professional services, dispense medication, and assist in maintaining the dispensary.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmacy and customer service, acknowledging all customers approaching the pharmacy.
• Practice within federal, provincial, regulatory, and legal requirements.
• Ensure all privacy and confidentiality requirements are met.
• Offer counseling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
• Practice to the full extent of your professional scope.
• Be identifiable to the public and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed.
• Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate customer care.
• Maintain all required records according to legislation, standards, and policies.

Workflow and Inventory Management:

• Control access to the dispensary respecting inventory and confidentiality.
• Review and maintain workflow queues daily.
• Manage stock levels, expired inventory, and medication orders from wholesalers.
• Ensure compliance with regulations regarding controlled substances and reporting requirements.

Operations:

• Maintain an appropriate image of the pharmacy in all work areas.
• Participate in financial reporting as needed.
• Respond to store communications and file incident reports for medication or privacy incidents.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to think independently and make decisions.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks, providing coaching to colleagues.
• Proven leadership and business development skills.
• Exceptional customer service and professional relations skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with experience in action planning.
