Job summary

Laporte & Associates is seeking a Process Engineer for pharmaceutical and biotech projects in Toronto, ON. You will support conceptual to commissioning stages, focusing on clean utilities, sterile/fill-finish systems, and sanitary process design.

The role requires independent execution and coordination with Process Lead, Project Manager, vendors and clients. Qualified candidates have a chemical engineering degree and 3+ years in regulated life sciences, with GMP awareness and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of process engineering experience in pharma/biotech or regulated life sciences.
• Experience in clean utilities, CIP/SIP, and sanitary process systems.
• Ability to review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment lists, and process calculations.
• Familiarity with GMP design principles and ISPE guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Review project documentation and become familiar with ongoing projects.
• Execute process engineering work packages with limited supervision.
• Prepare/update PFDs, P&IDs, process descriptions and utility load summaries.
• Perform mass/energy balances, equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations.
• Develop equipment specifications and procurement documents.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines and participate in design reviews.
