The laboratory of Prof. Tarek Rouissi at the Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre of INRS is recruiting a new Ph.D. student to join his team and develop new biological systems including enzymatic systems for the biodegradation of PFAS.
We are seeking outstanding, enthusiastic candidates holding a master’s degree in biotechnology engineering, microbiology, bioprocess engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field with basic knowledge in chemistry. Candidates with experience in microbiology and enzymatic degradation of pollutants will be prioritized.
Candidates who are in the process of completing their master’s degree are also encouraged to apply. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate passion and creativity and thrive in a collaborative environment. Selected candidates must show strong skills in research planning, experimental design, scientific writing and publishing, as well as rigor, perseverance, and excellent communication and writing skills.
Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset. However, to overcome language barriers and promote the inclusion of non-French-speaking students, free French courses are offered to facilitate the integration of the Ph.D. student into the INRS and Québec communities.Expected start date
